If you’re like me, you probably didn’t go out on Valentine’s night. You don’t like crowds and need to stick to an 8:30 bedtime. Plus it was a school night for crying out loud, you didn’t have a babysitter, and at least one person in your house has been sick and probably contagious since October. Ya feel?!
Since February is a month of celebrating love, I thought I’d share some of my favorite date night spots. Doesn’t have to be fancy, just a spot you can always count on to be amazing. For me, it has to have good desserts and coffee, too. Since that’s what determines if it’s a real date night or if I’ve just been lazy at cooking again.
My husband LOVES Italian food and we don’t often get it cause he usually lets me choose and I’m never gonna not want Mexican or Asian. However—Vito’s is just simply the best date night spot. The owner, Cathy, usually waits all the tables and literally every time we go we just let her order for us. On the weekends they have live music…think Frank Sinatra in NYC ::swoon::. It’s a cozy small place in a strip mall so it’s pretty unassuming from the outside, but man is it charming. It’s totally a great place for a random Tuesday dinner, too. That’s what’s so great about it.
This is the very first place I wrote about on Kacie Eats. It remains one of my favorite date nights in OKC. The atmosphere is unlike any other I have found in the city. It’s upscale but still inviting. It’s spread out enough where you can’t hear your neighbor’s conversation, and the food is just unbeatable. Pro-tip if you’re dating on a budget: go at lunchtime! The menu is cheaper and you can still enjoy an awesome and classy date! Try the french onion soup if you don’t plan on kissing anyone after—it’s the best in the city.
I’m throwing it back to the years I spent in Norman right now. Let’s try to wipe away the bad memories….yes…it’s coming back to me now. The mushroom rigatoni changed my life. Just trust me on this one. If you live south of I-40 this is a MUST. If you’re in Norman for an afternoon, stop by here. Very welcoming atmosphere, service is always fantastic, and may I speak again about the mushroom rigatoni? Order it.
This is Edmond’s newest French restaurant, and I feel bad writing about it because I haven’t been yet….is that so bad? This place is Fancier than that Reba McEntire song. Do not take your ‘meat and potatoes’ spouse…they will likely leave hungry and confused about what they just consumed. This is for those who are taking their date nights to the next level. Kaleb, are you reading this? My calendar is wide open. This place is gonna set you back a few Benjamins.
I hope you all endure this upcoming winter weather with plenty of warm, cozy blankets and cuddles.
Happy month of love!
